This is a story of my fucked up weekend. It is all ruin thanks to the award winning skytrax world’s best airline. Well you know what I mean? I was like a biggest fan of this particular airline but now…it’s hard to tell. Well here goes the story of my weekend.
One month before, I bought a return flight ticket from Miri-Kota Kinabalu-Miri. My flight departed from Miri to Kota Kinabalu is at 2.45pm on the 31st March, 2010 and my return flight ticket is at 1.30pm on April 4th ,2010 . I was so happy because I can finally meet my beloved girlfriend soon.
But 24 hours before my flight to Miri, the skytrax award winning airlines send me a massage telling me that my return flight time has been rescheduled. My flight from Miri to KK is being retimed to 9.40pm on 31st March, 2010 and my return flight ticket rescheduled to 8.25pm on April 4th ,2010. I was like..wtf? it’s not going to KK that worries me, but my return flight to Miri is quite late because I am afraid I may not made it in time to get a bus to Bintulu upon my arrival. Damn Shit Happens! Then I try to call the award winning Aviation Company. The conversations are as shown below:
Phil : Tut teet tut teet tut teet (dialing numbers)
Careline : Welcome to bla bla bla.. Untuk Bahasa Malaysia Sila tekan 1, For English please press….
Phil : tut….(Pressing number 1)
Careline : Sila masukkan kata laluan anda dan diakhiri dengan #
Phil : Tut tet tut teet teet tuut tueet tuut teet teet teet teet tuut # (entering the numbers)
Careline : Tekan 1 jika betul
Phil : Tut!! (Pressing 1)
Careline : “ Harap maaf, perunding perkhidmatan kami tidak dapat melayan anda pada masa ini, sila hubungi kami kemudian atau cuba sebentar lagi” (This shit is playing over and over again and I am so irritated with the fucked up repititions..Seriously! “ The skytrax world’s best air line” you should work on this one!!)
The night before my flight to KK, I was in a dilemma and I almost to cancel my trip to KK. That night I try to get a good night sleep, but I can’t. At 4am I was awake and straight away turn on my laptop and went to the airline website and purchase my new flight ticket from KK to Miri at 6.55am on April 4th,2010. This time I am comfortable with the time as I can get back to Bintulu early.
So on the 31st March 2010, I went to Miri and met my old friend, Ridzwan and Gedeng. At 7.30pm Wan sent me to the Miri Airport. Then, I check in and hang out for a while with my course mate, Anas. I was waiting for Afzal to arrived actually because he’s going to KL that night too.
A t 9.00pm I went to the departure hall and sat there waiting for my departure. At 9.20pm Afzal arrived and we had a talk. It is 9.30 and it’s my time to boarding, as I queuing for boarding, I met an old friend, Azie and astonishingly she’s heading o KK too.
Then, 9.40 I was in the plane. The captain said our flight is being delayed for 25 mins due to some problems and I was like “okay what’s the big deal?”. 25 mins passes by and one of the old looking flight attendants is opening the entire bag compartments above our seats and announcing “ bla bla bla..this flight is being cancelled” I was like “Oh Shit! Now everyone cannot fly!”
It is not only me who gone mad there, all of the people were pissed off! Then all of us went into the airport again and I gather all around the counter. Some of the people there are having their business trip and man! They’re pretty pissed off! The Arguments continue until 12 am. I was too arguing there but maybe I was young and seem unimportant the people who are in charged that time just ignore me. I tried to talk again but again I am just a buzzing sound to them. Anyways what the heck?! Fuck them anyways. They said that the plane rear tire had problem and they have no spare parts and their only options that they have is to have a rescue flight or to wait for the spare part to arrive tomorrow morning at 9.20am from KL. And plus the only rescue flight is from KL. Why everything is centralized there? I overheard one of the passengers said “ Kasi bangun ba si Datuk Tony Fernandez tu, kasi sa bercakap sama dia”
I am so pissed off because the flight company is awarded the “world’s best airlines” and yet they had a fucked up system! Ok here are some suggestions for the pea brains or shit heads:
- In case SHIT HAPPENS, since you guys are the so called “The world’s best airlines awarded by skytrax” , please USE your COMMON SENSE. Since you guys have dozens air plane, sent a rescue flight from any nearest air port ok?? Do I have to think of everything?? If the pilot are still asleep woke them up! If the flight attendants are busy having sex or something ask them to stop! Ask them to get ready! You guys pay them after all with OUR ticket MONEY Dammit!
- Please do not let newbies handling the counter alone!
- Please do not ignore people like me! I know I am nobody to you guys, but somewhat I pay for some of your paycheck or even help you bought a new plane.
- Ok this is quite interesting, If I want my flight money back, please give back in cash or something else..no E-gift! E-gift means nothing to you guys! I am not stupid! Oh yeah by the way if people are asking for ticket refund, please give all their money back including the Insurance money and he airport tax ok? Since we cancel our flight and ask for refunds, please give all of our money back ok? INCLUDING INSURANCE AND TAX! We are NOT THERE to USE your SERVICE ok? That is Cheating am I right?!
- Next is some suggestion on spare parts, please place your spare parts at least at some on the main airports ok? Don’t just keep it at one place! If there are no spare parts, please again use your common sense to ask some spare parts from the nearest main airport!
- Provide more COMMON SENSE COURSE to your staff or LEADERSHIP SKILLS or QUICK DECISION MAKING SKILL to them! I have no problem waiting, but not a long wait ok?! I wrote this suggestion because I pity some of kids who have to stay there that night, waiting there.
Finally at about 1am I gave up already and I overheard tomorrow the same flight will depart to KK a 10.30am after the spare parts arrive from KL at 9.20am.
On Friday, 2nd April,2010. My flight to KK is 10.30 am. I went to the airport early and at at 10.00am I enter the departure Hall. Again my flight is being delayed to 11.15am. Maybe you guys must think again about the award that you get. Maybe you should change your slogan from to “Now Everybody Can Fly with delayed or cancelled flight” or “Now Everybody is waiting to fly”. Seriously put that shit on your banners or T-shirt.
